The tournament – supposed to start at 4 p.m. – managed to kick off late…but it seemed to not be a big ordeal one way or the other. I did not plan to rebuy and did plan to play my best, which I feel I did play well, the only problem was the Card Fairy beat me to the table and also bit all the dealers behind the ear so I was doomed from the start.
There were two hands I would have won if I had closed my eyes and shoveled in all my chips, something like 10-3 of spades and I would have had to have called someone’s all-in in front of me and the other one was something cutely creepy like 7-3 off. I made it almost a full hour before going bust. I raised UTG once with A-Q off and won the blinds. My newly found friend Nick – to my right – and ultra chatter box that kept me and everyone else entertained was on a raising siz and playing way too many hands to even be credible…unfortunately he was winning too. With blinds at 75-150, he made it $600 to go. I looked down to 10-10 and went all in for another 800 over his raise. The rebuy period was still open and he had a lot of chips. He talked it up for a minute and then called, K-5 off suit. He hit a King on the flop auto-pilot and then drew out on himself, he had the 5 of hearts and four hearts came on the board.
He was really cute and funny. When he found out I wasn’t rebuying, he asked, “Did you want me to call?”
“Of course!” and who wouldn’t?
One thing that happened during the tournament that I feel is wrong – and yes, I know it was a fun event and for charity – but the lady in the 1s put out her chips, going all-in, announcing it to the table at the beginning of the hand. She did this several times. Once I asked for the floor to be called because it was my $100 big blind, she was the dealer, and the player next to me put in his $100 call and then the dealer informed him that it was going to be raised and the player took back his $100 and threw his hand away. Miss NitBitch (MOI) asked for the floor. Obviously the player had to leave the $100 and could not have his hand back but just as obviously, the dealer didn’t know that he wasn’t supposed to announce it was going to be raised and another possibly not so obvious thing, that type of move – pushing all your chips out blind in a tournament – to me is not correct for the good of the tournament and definitely affects the action which another player may be looking for action on a big hand and now he’s going to get one person…the one he can’t win any money from other than their all-in shove. OK, that being said, I don’t feel a person should ever – EVER – give up any information as to what action they will take until the action is on them.
On to pictures, first let’s talk food. Very nice spread:

Then let’s talk race car and driver:
And you saw Carmen (from behind mainly) in yesterday’s post dancing to the music, she’s with the driver and her sister standing next to the car. The driver seemed concerned that we should get the car in the picture. Umnhnnn. I wondered if it even had an engine in it. JOPKE! NOT!
Now a run on the players:
