I played one hand of the Two 1/4M on PokerStars today. I looked down to A-A on the first hand. It’s a bad sign. You can almost feel the air around you turn to ice and start pressing in on your chest…you ain’t gonna win this hand. I didn’t. I raised it to 320, got two callers; flop 8d-kh-3h. I bet 740, got raised all-in by the Jh-10H…yah, I’m a fish. I called. No waiting, 8h on the turn and 2c on the river left this little fishie flapping on the rail. Fuck em, that’s all I have to say about it! On to other things.
Good news! The PokerWorks 8 Game tourney had my name written all over it. I won it! Winning it was close to the same thing as winning the Two 1/4M…minus a few bucks. It sure is a lot more fun.

It seems that playing 8 game manages to give a lot more play to our little tourney than the H.O.R.S.E. tourney does. I’m not a big fan of the PLO but it’s doable. Thanks everyone for coming. And for letting me win…ha ha ha…the biggest fish took 1st place.

So let’s do a little run on my picture cache. Staying at the SunCoast on DDAY (dentist day), this is the view from my dirty window, facing East:
That’s the Stratosphere off in the distance – taken late in the afternoon. If I wanted to pay an extra $40 or so a day, I could view the golf course. For what reason I ask you? Instead I got to view the shitty roof top, but hey, I don’t spend my time in Vegas gazing out the window of a hotel.
This shot is a new bunch of condos or housing going in that sits on the edge of a big flood control gorge, it’s south of Angel Park Golf Course, they hauled in a ton of dirt and who knows what to be able to build this monster. I used to wog (walk/jog) through this area when there was nothing there. The flood control place reminded me of a Star Wars scene with strange little holes and cut outs in the wall of the gorge. And it went under Rampart, still does. Once you walked through the creepy looking underpass to the other side of Rampart, it used to be part of a golf course, this is what it looks like now.
The roof of the SunCoast directly in front of me, the buildings in the back with the sophisticated looking design is the where the golf course used to be – I believe there is one still there, just higher up now that the housing has been built. High rises everywhere in the city now, strange sometimes to think back on the way it used to be.
And let’s not leave out a few WSOP pictures. Especially the one of Todd Brunson flipping me off. Thanks Todd. The following four were all taken of the 40k event final two tables, I have more but don’t have them set to publish yet.
Amazingly, in two of the Omaha 8 tables, one had Michael Mizrachi in the 10 seat, Erick Lindgren in the 1s, Freddie Deeb in the 2s and Phil Hellmuth in the 3s…yeah, Hellmuth’s butt was in the chair. How would you like to be at that table? And in another one, Annie Duke in the 2s, Todd Brunson in the 3s, Max Pescatori in the 7s, and Matt Savage in the 8s…and doncha love the look on Matt’s face?
I was under the impression that no poker.com names could be worn anywhere during the WSOP, this kid’s hat says differently. How possible?
I found the Poker Players Alliance booth. I was wearing my Poker Players Alliance t-shirt and my Ruger SR9 baseball cap…supporting my right to freedom. Keep up the good work PPA.
It was a good day at the Rio, I got a hug from Tony G, met Haley Hintz (PokerNews Editor), got to visit for a bit with Pauly and Alcanthang and Gene. Lunch with Aaron Hendrix, and just all in all cruising the hustle and bustle of the WSOP. SWEET!
g’nite.
Way to go Linda! My apologies once again, as my daughter needed help getting dinner on the table when the game was starting. What, family over poker? I guess my priorities are just messed up……
