temporarily 86’d from my internet satellite usage. PUKE! I had no idea that hughes.net was a such a nambi-pambi bitchwort since I never received any paperwork or terms or conditions, etc. Last night I was playing 6 handed $11 buy-in tourney on PokerStars, lost my internet connection completely and could never reconnect. At the same time I was trying to download a gigantically huge file to update my iPhone. No, no bells went off.
I walked away from the pc and played a game on Wii, came back later, sent the satellite out to seek and everything appeared to be fine. I was long gone out of the tournament by then and had given up hope of even reconnecting. I finished the download for the iPhone, put up a few articles, and hit the hay. Upon crawling out around 8 a.m. I found that I was back to ground zero. Three computers, all showed my internet connection as excellent but no connection when I tried to go anywhere. I called Satellite World first, the guys that spent forever working on my satellite last year. He told me to call Motosat. I did. They figured it out for me. Apparently there are free hours where I can upload/download without any penalties, then there is a restricted time where if I download gigantic files like movies or iPhone updates, blah, blah, that I had been fapped. I’m pretty much offline for 24 hours Eastern time. How nice it would have been if only I’d known in advance.
So….
Right now I’m at a Best Western in Pahrump, they graciously have allowed me to use their lobby wifi access free. I had planned to just get a room and get my work done, this is much better, costs less and I’m at a desk. Damn…some things are very nice, like small town hospitality.
On the home front:
The truck driving duo hit the road today. MOI feels much better, antibiotics presecribed were the right ones after a call from the Dr. Riot is in family lockdown and his mom won’t let him come out and play. My fence/wall project has started. I have the afternoon to play the Wii, shovel gravel, or just hang out…choices are wonderful.
