Tronc

Interesting that some of the poker players and casinos act like tipping isn’t a legal word, but the Grand Casino Baden has Tronc right on their main page and it takes you to this bit of text:

*”For the staff” – that’s what our employees are delighted to hear. With your generous contribution you have a direct impact on the compensation of our team. Employees of the Grand Casino Baden receive a significant portion of their pay from the Tronc, in other words from your tips.

Of course, giving up a share of your profit – e.g. after winning straight up at roulette or hitting the jackpot – is voluntary. However, according to legend, such a courtesy is favoured by Fortuna, the Goddess of Luck. Surely our employees will appreciate your generosity.*

Naw…wasn’t out searching for tips, I’d need a tin cup and a ‘will not work’ sign to do that.  I just happened across this website and thought it was interesting that they actually promote tips for their casino employees…wow…a novel idea.

I did make it into Vegas on Thursday to meet Marie for a friendly game of poker at the Palms.  She finally made it back from her summer of travels.  And I add that she was missed.  We stayed in touch by phone but it’s not the same thing as a face to face visit, or elbow to elbow visit battling it out at the green felt.  I called Wayne and he met us for the game also.  It was a actually a lot of fun.

A youngster named Josh was sitting on the other side of Wayne and Josh liked to play.  it reminded me of the old Montana days where everyone played every hand, only it was Josh playing every hand.  He did manage to pitch one or two during the course of two hours or so. And he had chips in front of him.

The three of us hit the Palms Coffee Shop and Gary (Marie’s mate) and his son Mike joined us for food.  I hadn’t had any grease in my diet for awhile and the onion rings were incredible.  The food was good, the company was great, and Wayne treated us all on Palm’s comps.  I lost $16 playing thanks to a coupon I received for $5 in free chips.  Thanks for the coupon, my friend.  The whole event was definitely a ’10’.

I made it to Walmart and bought the Perego battery for $48.  And I’m with you Sarah, I love Walmart too.  I do think they should offer products at the same price regardless of the area they are servicing…IMHO.

I brought my buddy Riot home with me for a few days.  He almost caught that damn rabbit…almost.  What a fun adventure it is to waltz thru the world from his view.

Check Chasing Chris Ferguson much later today for an update on the PokerWorks H.O.R.S.E tourney.  And I had a chat text with Tony G. today, if his schedule permits, he will play the next one with us.  He was going to play once before but couldn’t find his PokerStars password.  His player ID is ‘wraptduck’.  Better check in for the next one to see how it all plays out.
