Belated Dad’s Day wishes to all of you dads out there, even if you’re a mom. Maybe you’d have to have been there.
The Vegas weather has jumped to the kind of temperature that we usually have this time of year. At 10 p.m. it was 91 degrees. Now that’s what makes me want to leave town for the next three months. The wind is still having fits now and then. My sis and I were chatting the other day as she was going through New York City in the big semi, she said she was driving into a hurricane. I told her I was trying to survive a tornado here. The weather has been a real thing of weirdness this year. Oh yeah…the end of the world is coming…silly me. I knew that!
Funny that Glenda and I both played the $1.10 stud 8 tourney on PokerStars day before yesterday and started at the same table. We both played the $100K guaranteed tournament yesterday and busted out and decided we would play the $10 +1 Stud 8 tourney and ended up right next to each other at a table. She tried to bluff me with a low…silly kid. I play just bad enough to call down with a high – donkey ears flapping.
We’ve ended up at the same table four times – I think – in all of the tournaments we’ve played together. No, we never discuss a hand or do anything unethical when we are in the same game. And we try to beat each other, as evidenced by us both being 1 and 2 in another Stud 8 we played in…she beat me.
We do discuss hands when we are playing at different tables, like, “J-J, I’m all in this hand.” “Fuck, that asshole beat me with J-3 offsuit.”Yeah, we can put the potty mouth burn on the keyboard any day of the week. And we do lots of times. Usually I end up laughing so hard I almost fall out of my chair…that’s a good thing when you’re getting brutalized in a poker game, being able to laugh that is.
It’s funny in a way that we met because of PokerWorks a million years ago and we’ve never met in person but we’ve shared so much of our lives with each other that it may feel strange to actually look each other in the eye and visit. It will happen at some point for sure. In the meantime, I’ll meet her in cyber for a game of poker and gab…probably tomorrow. See you there!
