I called Wayne on Wednesday to see if he was willing to trek around Project City Center with me on Thursday. The foolish child accepted. It’s always wonderful to have a good friend to spend an afternoon with – especially when you’re going to spend it walking up and down the Strip and going into parking garages to access the best spots to take pictures from. And then to make it even better, lunch was on the agenda after the trek. Yes, a Project City Center update is coming. But first the Bellagio Conservatory teaser…it’s under construction – but what the hell isn’t in Vegas? The whole damn town does a major change-over every six months or so.
The whole of the conservatory is blocked off to tourist traffic; a roped off entrance allows access to Cafe Bellagio.
The empty holes at the base of this tree are set to receive some of the zillions of Poinsettia plants that will adorn the area.
Sometimes it’s just fun to take pictures of people taking pictures. You’re welcome, Doris.
The ceiling in the hall that goes to the Spa Tower. In the picture above, Wayne is standing almost directly under this picture. Danged if it ain’t purty. Sometimes what’s overhead really is ‘heavenly’.
Just a shot of the fountains, shooting off in arcs. There’s always a water show going on at Bellagio.
Setting the stage looks something like this…equipment, people, and lots and lots of plants.
The guys on the crane are giving the reindeer an assist on being airborne.
The penguin at the top of this ladder is always in motion – the ladder that is. It brings the penguin up to the tree to decorate and moves him back again – perhaps when construction is over that will change.
The main viewing point and entry area – off of registration.
The main entry point, jets of water form an arch that one can enter under. This is to the right of the picture above.
This is to the right of the picture above and gives one the impression that reindeer really do know how to fly. Nice!
Wayne tells me these beauties are made of pecans, I accept that bit of trivia as being useless, interesting information. That’s how I base almost all of my current knowledge, useless, interesting information – so it fits right in with every thing else that careens through my thoughts…as a matter of fact, I’ve already found a place to store it.
Merry, merry, and happy, happy, World!
Thanks for the company, Wayne. And we threw some money in a machine – going partners. He scored! Ultra Sweet, pictures, exercise, good company, food, and $$ in my pocket for the journey home. It just don’t get any better than this!
These pictures are almost more interesting than the completed project will be – though I’ll be happy to see those also.
Have a good, next weekend, Linda.
Linda, thanks, beautiful pictures.
I enjoy all the pictures, especially the ones of Wayne.
David and I are counting the days till Wayne gets home
for Christmas, can’t wait.
Thanks again,
Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year!
