Still no image manager and that means no pictures in posts. The good news is that I haven’t been just sitting in the corner biting my fingernails trying to figure out how to spend my time. I’ve spent plenty of it.
And on the subject of fingernails, let’s talk about those people that rip their flesh down to ‘bleed zone’ – right in front of you while they are playing poker. ARH-HR-HR-HR-HR-HGGGGG! It makes me sick. There are a few players I distinctly remember as I sat in the box and tried not to look at them while they ripped their nails and skin off and chewed it up and swallowed, leaving a bleeding nub behind. Cannibalizing yourself has to be the ultimate form of punishment. Whew! Now that I’m past that grim picture, time warp to the present.
Last night was spent out hiking through another Vegas park with Carmen Bates. Great time. And it’s really nice to discover that Vegas has taken most, or all, of the washes (created by flash flooding) and turned them into really cool parks and water control areas. At times, when the subject of flash floods come up, I recall the picture the LVRJ had of one of our high limit stud players being rescued from his vehicle in the parking garage of the Imperial Palace. The water was up to the window of his car. That was when we were at the Mirage, years ago, but I’m not sure that things have changed a lot at the IP, even with all of the flood control dams, reservoirs, etc., I believe you still have to get the hell out of dodge (and the lower end of parking and drive through at the IP) when it rains.
It’s a wonderful, sunny 75 degrees today in Vegas. I’m off to spend some more of my time!
Hi Linda, It surely is beautiful in southern Nevada these days. How is the retirement going? I have some really off topic questions and comments for you.
I have been in the area for about 5 months now. I have had some job interwiews, and a couple auditions. I have even been so desperate as to even apply for BlackJack positions. (everyone says that’s dumb) But the fact of the matter is, I need to eat and pay my way in life. In my auditions, I have been told that I’m an excellent dealer, but they always seem to hire some one with considderable less skill and who is already employed. Maybe a friend or family, who knows. I just can’t get over the fact that it is so difficult to get employed as a poker dealer in this town with so many taqbles. Lately some friends have told me that people have to actually PAY for thier jobs here. Is that true? How much are people paying? Where do I find these "JOBS FOR SALE?" I love it here is Vegas (actually Henderson) and would hate to have to crawl back to Cali with my tail tucked. I am so good at what I do, and I actually LOVE to do it! Please any advise from a retired PRO.
Oh, one more thing, I noticed Bellagio has 12 openings for poker dealer today. Do you have any advise for me to get an audition? Maybe the correct person to "PAY OFF?" lol
