I’m sorry to say that A-A and Q-Q bit the dust for my hero, my horse, my son Dan. I feel that he played quite well and didn’t do anything I wouldn’t have doneā¦he even got off the Aces. I love his poker attitude and I would send him in to vanquish the table villians with my money, any day, so that says a lot for how I feel he plays. He maintains his attitude and still PLAYS the game. That’s a huge plus in his favor, and here he is with a big smile.
He was out about an hour after the dinner break. And while I had a press pass and could have gone in immediately, I stood in the ‘sweater’s’ line with my son Darian, so we could go in to together. I looked up to see Craig Singer standing about 10′ feet away. He joined us in line and we had a chance to visit. I hadn’t seen him much since the days of Andy Beal coming to town for the big game. Craig is always a treat.
There were a lot of pluses to this day, no down side for me because Dan is capable of winning any tournament and I simply hope he enjoyed the experience. We were doing family time and thinking positive for each other, we had breakfast together, joined by a friend/dealer from New York, Claudia; we had dinner together and had some laughs and free time for a bit; and we left the Rio together, no grouching or whining. Nice!
