and summer in Vegas, life is heating up again. I no longer have the continual aching kidney, high blood pressure, and a racing heart rate. I feel like a new person. How possible you are asking? Has a true miracle happened? Perhaps, perhaps not. Maybe it’s too soon to tell. After surviving Vytorin, Metoprolol, Benicar, and a few others things, I went back to the original prescription, hydrochlorothiazide, almost a week ago, (on the day I thought I was seriously going to die).I stopped doing everything else. Within a day, my blood pressure had dropped. Within two days, my kidney quit aching. I managed to slip by the little, needle stabbing headache that had plagued me for the last five weeks. And after searching the internet, I found that the reason one’s heart goes into high race mode (in my case anyway), was because my blood pressure dropped (due to decreased blood volume) and my heart was trying to raise my blood pressure. I drank a cold glass of Gatorade (love that lime RAIN) and two glasses of water within about 45 minutes. My heart rate dropped right down. OMG! Happiness to the nth.
I’ve drastically altered my eating habits and what I eat and how much I eat. In the last five weeks I’ve lost 11 pounds. I’m on a roll.
I had a Dr.’s appt. on Thursday, the 10th. She and I decided it was time to start taking Zedia, a high cholesterol med that works in the bowels instead of on the liver. In a week I go back to have my blood levels checked. I feel like, for the first time in about four years, that I have a handle on what’s going on with me and my body. It’s way overdue. I no longer drink coffee or sodas or any alcohol. I’m not eating ‘fried and greasy’ nor ‘sweet and gooey’. I did start using the Arbonne Figure 8 system and since I’m so new to it, or it’s not really had a chance to effect much on my diet and lifestyle, I’ll wait to add more on that.
The best news is that I know I can reach a point where I no longer have to take anything, and when I do, I can drop off of the thiazide and it will have no after effect on my body. I’ll be there soon.
In the funny section, I’ve had people suggest all kinds of things to me – that I should do to get rid of high blood pressure and ill health – STOP IT! STOP IT, you’re killing me!
But thanks for thinking of me and taking the timeâ¦.
