I keep shifting off to do other things instead of doing what I really want to do, that is writing about the Bloggers in town over the weekend. Iggy and I found a spot to sit and visit privately for a few minutes before we rejoined the Sport’s Book Blogger Crowd. Someone, I can’t even remember who right now, teased me about not being too hard on Iggy since I was his boss…sheesh! Like yeah right! It’s hard to be the boss of a blogger…that’s why we blog…we don’t want a boss telling us what towrite in our blog.
I got a giant hug from Alcanthang in the Sport’s bar area. I had Amy take a few pictures of me and Iggy, I took a few pictures of other people, listened up to a bit of conversation, and I was ready to fly. I’d been out and around people all day, in traffic, ate too much at the buffet, and it was around 10:30ish p.m. and I wanted some quiet time for myself. Anytime I’m in traffic and noise and people for a 10 to 12 hour period, stick a fork in me.Besides, Iwanted a picture of a poster I saw at MGM, this was also the night (the 9th)that I took the picture of the lioness that I thought was going to rip off the guy’s head that was in the habitat, and I said goodnight to all of the bloggers that I spotted and went in search of the poster.
I hit the cool night air about a half later, found the Silver Steed right where I left itand headed home. For some idiot reason, I still didn’t go to sleep when I should have. Perhaps my brain is stuck in a terminal groove and it only understands nocturnal wakenings and sleepy eyes and shutting down when daylight slips across the sky. Whatever the case, I did sleep – finally – and woke up to trying to slam together a bit of a post before I showered and drove across the valley for the Tournament held at Caesar’s Palace – Saturday the 10th.
I parked on the top floor of Bellagio’s Parking Garage and bailed through the casino, over the skywalk, through Caesar’s and managed to find the poker room without getting lost this time…Whew! I thought I was going to be late but I arrived just as registration was beginning for the tournament. I found Falstaff and his wife – of course I can’t remember her name – and a few others already there in line and some of the group were in games waiting for the tournament to begin.
I found one of my friends (that I deal to at Bellagio – Chris) in a live game and he had a food menu in front of him. Woo Hoo! I was starving. He ordered for me and brought it in to my tournament table about 45 minutes later! Sweet! I got my seat – 4 – on Table 50 and immediately ordered a glass of wine from cocktails. Hell…it’s never to early to start when you’re hanging with a group that drinks non-stop. The names of the people I remember on my table were 1s – Mr. Subliminal, 2s – Lou Krieger, 3s – Johnny Walker, 5s – Matt, 6s – Bobby Bracelet (he knocked me out of the Summer Classic), and unfortunately, I can’t remember the rest of the table. So pimp slap when you see me. You can always send me an email and tell me what seat you were in and what your name and blog name is because I do have pictures.

Keep in mind that if you click ona thumbnail, see the ‘big picture’ and a mouse over shows that I don’t know your name, send me the title of the mouse over and your name and I will fix it up as time permits. Besides, it will help me get to know you.
Most of us at my table took the re-buy right away, I took it immediately upon being seated. I’ve been in the terminal dead card run for the last zillion or so years and this tournament was no different. The good news is that I had wine, good company, and received a chickenciabatta sandwhich that was perfect. I gave half of the sandwhich away to Johnny Walker but I refused to share the pickle or the potato salad. Yummy!
I think I made one hand, K-K, and raised to win the blinds. Otherwise I sat and chatted – too much I’m sure – with everyone that would talk to me or listen as I drank and dined. Easy Cure was first out. Lou Krieger gave himPoker for Dummiesand of course he received the infamous ‘Gigli’ award.
Lou and Mr. Subliminal went to war in one hand. Lou had Mr. S. covered and Mr. S. had Lou covered by hole cards – K-K vs. Q-Q. The Kings held up. I kept gabbing and dining. My repeating 9-3 and 6-2 followed by j-3 and 5-2 never held my attention and I just enjoyed the show. Matt broke Lou and Lou had two gifts for him, more books. Matt was thrilled. I’m not sure how happy Lou was but after all, we were all blogger buddies doing the ‘poker thang’.
Right now I feel just like I did at the end of that night – exhausted. Time for Sand Woman Land!
*post poned* one more time…
