Bellagio’s Gardens

Anyone thatvisits Bellagio, and goes anywhere other than the casino floor, sport’s book, or poker room, knows the gardens are a sight to behold. A few months ago there were trains running through all different terrains and climates, using the Banyan tree in the theme. Now fall has arrived and with it the scent of cinnamon spice is in the air. That’s one of the most sense delighting facts about stepping into the gardens, the fresh change in the air and a climate change, usually a little more moist, removing onefrom the dry desert atmosphere, and now it smells like cinnamon spice too.

On the morning that I bailed out at a ridiculous hour on a Saturday to update Project City Center, I also roamed through the gardens. It was perfect, early with natural light coming through the skylight and very few bodies tostep into the picture that I wanted. So…enjoy!

Entering the gardens from registration, allows this glimpse of the overall area, and keep in mind that it is normally, always, filled with moving, milling bodies as everyone comes to look and enjoy and have their picture taken here.

Once you’re inside the gardens, this is the central theme, straight ahead, past the Banyan tree, is the Cafe Bellagio, or in laymen terms, the coffee shop.

These kids are winging it. Jumping right out of a huge live plant and floral design, they are on the far right when one enters from the registration area.

Just to show the intricate relief, more pictures of the mallards flying out of the wall. It’s really stunning and the picture doesn’t do it justice, plus you’re nose is pleasantly teased with the smell of cinnamon throughout the whole experience.

This beauty (one of two),is just taking flight from the center area, right between the two entry doors coming from registration.

This obelisk has an internal light, stands at the entrance fromthe shop decoratedhallway;on the left if your back is to registration. I always feel a calming when I see it.

The tile throughout Bellagio is pretty incredible. Each little piece was hand laid. There are various designs through it, some are dragonflies, etc.

This mill and water wheel (naturally it’s pulling water), sit in the back left when one enters from registration. To the right is a myriad of banyan tree and live plants. There are also, huge, amber colored leaves hanging everywhere and appear to be drifting down in the fall theme.

This wonderful creation sits in the far left corner, in the back, by itself, and is a work of art in my mind. That is one of the shops in the hallway behind this tree.

Check out the size of these pumpkins, and the leaves falling from the sky, and the overall adventure of fall and a holiday all rolled in to one. This is to the immediate left when you enter from registration.

And this is really neat, of course you have to look to discover it, but it really adds to the fall look. On the bark of the trees – alittle corn, grains, and what a food festival for the inhabitants of a forest…

Where were these babies grown at? They probably aren’t even a record but they are damn huge, and the color just adds extra life to everything.

In a few days, people will sit down to way too much food and hopefully have their fill of all the good things life has to offer. And we will all be blessed and enriched just for having shared something of ourselves with someone else. Make it the best part that you are sharing with them. Happy Thanksgiving!

  1. Absolutely beautiful. Not to be too demanding, but……is there any way we could get some more pix after they decorate for Christmas? Have heard it’s amazing.
