Aw-w-w-w…just kidding. I’m really not stressed out at all. I’m about 1,000 miles in the opposite direction. I have no energy, no wish to do anything, just the desire to fold up with a bottle of wine, watch about 12 movies, and not move for the next few days but that ain’t gonna happen. I’m going to have to drag myself out of the dark that surrounds me when we ‘fall back’ in the winter. I hate it. I go to work and it’s dark, I leave work and it’s dark. Sucks!
Work is still a four letter word, and if you think this post is going anywhere, you are completely wrong. There is no driving force behind it, words that need to be written or anything that dramatic going on. As a matter of fact, it might be a waste of perfectly good words. I feel compelled to write but nothing is grabbing my brain andscreaming, “Write me!” So I’m just drifting along through a mind twist that is too relaxed to feel twisted.
On the poker front, I did receive my wonderful, little letter from Jeffrey N. Pollack, Commissioner, World Series of Poker, thanking me – personally – for participating in the 37th annual World Series of Poker presented by Milwaukee’s Best Light! Yup, that’s exactly how the first sentence reads.
I’m also being informed that they are working very hard at making 2007 even better, and that 48,000 players competed for $159M in prize money, and that I can reserve my room early and save big bucks. I’m also informed that “the 2007 Worlds Series of Poker, presented by Milwaukee’s Best Light” begins on Friday, June 1, and the final event is scheduled for Tuesday, July 17th. Get ready kids…the big event is almost on us already.
On that note, I have an incredible curiosity about the PartyPoker.Net logo that’s on all the Rio tables. I had heard, from an employee at the Rio, that PartyPoker paid $25M for the logo for two years…now that Party has bailed out of the US market, what happens there? Did Party pay in advance? Umnhhh!!!
And every sentence announcing the World Series is followed by the damn beer thingey. I also heard from the same employee that Milwaukee’s Best??? paid $20M for the logo on the table for two years. I think they should have put the $20M into improving their stupid beer.
One has to wonder how many players will actually go to the WSOP in 2007, given the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act and the fact that online satellites are out of the mix for the majority of us that can’t just waltz in and throw down $10G. Of course I believe in miracles and I feel the Card Fairy might just throw some twisted fairy dust into the mix and poker online may resume as usual. But I find myself questioning Harrahs and the whole depth of the Unlawful Internet Gambling EnforcementAct.

And I got my notice to renew the license for the Silver Steed. The norm is for me to do it online at the DMV, but diesels can’t be done online. I must send a check/CC# and the paper form. WTF? And…it’s expensive. The coach license will be due soon also…that’s even more expensive. Oh drear! Everything is expensive. I can’t believe it’s been a year since I jumped into the middle of the new lifestyle. I love the coach. I love the Steed. The only thing I don’t love is that I still have payments and can’t get the heck out of Dodge yet. But I do believe in miracles so I’ll keep on keeping on.
I’ve cruised some of the online sites lately, that I still have money in, and the time of day that works best for me to play, usually finds me going to TonyG. Poker. I like those tinky little blind NLH games early a.m. See you there!
