Alright kids, get a grip on this, think about it, and lest you think too long, jump on the bandwagon, and play – play – play. Because I am a depositing player at CD Poker, I’m registered in a July 10th event for a free roll into the big event at the WSOP. It doesn’t take a lot of cash or time to get there. Because I’m a Blogger, I’m registered in the PokerStars Blogger Tournament (WBOCCP), all you have to have is a blog, etc., etc., etc. Check out all the details on the site – and you don’t have much time to register but you too can play for a seat in the WSOP and other prizes. Because I’ve deposited and played at TitanPoker, I am eligible to play in a free roll tournament for the WSOP Big Event – free roll takes place on June 25th. Sweet! Project City Center Update
I can’t help my fascination with the destruction of everything that’s going on in and around Bellagio’s Employee Parking Lot – the future home of CityCenter. It’s hard to try and describe what it’s really going to be like when it’s finished – especially at a poker table where people are curious and they all think it’s going to be a huge casino. Umnhhh! For more info on what is going on there, please visit wikipedia. For pictures and updates as to what is happening that I can see and record, please look for Project City Center Updates here on Tango. This is my original post with pictures. To see the latest update, visit here. Continue reading Project City Center Update
Combinations of everything
My sis, Vickie, is now a long haul truck driver! What? That little tiny chick is cruising down the highway in a big semi? Monte (her sweetie) and Vick hit Vegas on Friday evening, on a long haul trip, they parked at the big truck parking at NV Palace and we had a two hour visit for food and hanging out. She saw my new digs – I saw hers. The kids in the truck behind them are my son Darian, Chad (Vickie’s son) and Eric (Vickie’s grandson)…all those kids live here in Vegas and they showed for the meal and visit. I caught Vick with her mouth open but she didn’t have a cigarette in it. Can you believe it? This girl used to eat cigarettes…and SHE QUIT!!! Way to go sister! Just cruisin’….
I’m rambling. I have tried – at least 1,000 times – to make people understand that I write for myself. I write because I enjoy it; because it’s therapy; because 20 years from now I’d like to read back over what I wrote and go “WOW!” I wrote that? Where did I find that in my thoughts? Or to have it swing me right back into a time and place that music has a tendency to do. I liken music as to a time machine – all you have to do is hear a song and it drags you back to the clothes you were wearing, who you were with, the smell of the atmosphere, the heat or lack of, your inner yearnings, and exactly how you felt at that time. I couldn’t win
From time to time I run into a situation that makes me wonder where I started with someone – or how I came across in my contact with them that threw everything into a disarray of irritation and ugly confrontation. I very seldom ever have conflict with anyone – especially someone I just met – yet it happened to me in the most friendly of environments. I was invited to Greg and Amy’s place over the weekend. We were going to work with Nick and Andy in low stakes poker – they were going to deal to us – we were going to play a variety of games because they were hired to deal the WSOP and needed the experience. I’d met Nick before – back in the old days when I hosted a game on Saturday night – Tim and Nick had been to the house to learn to deal. But Andy was a new face… Continue reading I couldn’t win
“We would, if THEY could!”
I have a little ‘siz’ going on in my brain right now. I’m not really barking, just sharing some events that make me wonder if these people really think…or listen. I’m thinking that if I didn’t know me, and I took a seat in my game, I would be able to tell just by the way I greeted me, and asked if I wanted to post $X and be dealt in right now, or wait for the blind, etc., etc., etc., I would be able to tell that by the way me handled the game, the deck, the deal, and politely made my request for ‘Blinds, please,” and all of that, I would know that me wasn’t new and that me knew how to do my stuff. Therefore, I wouldn’t try to correct me before me did anything wrong, or even try to jump in and do anything unless I thought me was seriously going to make a mistake. Well a lot of the rest of the world that plays poker just can’t figure that out…that’s what the ‘siz’ is all about. Continue reading “We would, if THEY could!”

Riot cracks me up!
I went to my son’s place on Friday afternoon, after lunch with Carole, and drifted through a sort of lazy day where I had no energy to do anything. At Darian and Sylvia’s house (son and daughter-in-law), I registered, on line, to play a $215 Satellite for a seat in the WSOP on Party. The tournament would start in approximately 45 minutes and I decided to play it there. Continue reading Riot cracks me up!
Project City Center
I just cruised wikipedia looking for info on Project City Center – mainly because I overheard a conversation on the employee shuttle where one guy was telling another that it was the largest civil engineering project in history – without government funding. The cranes – dozers – heavy equipment are now pounding 24 hours a day. When I hit the employee parking coming in from Las Vegas Blvd., off of Harmon, on Tuesday night, the shuttle had a completely new route to the back of Bellagio. I figure it takes a half hour to take the shuttle in to work now. I usually walk out at night anyway so now I’m walking in – that doesn’t take more than six to eight minutes.
