One has to wonder how many poker players can fit into any one area that hosts poker in this city. Looking at Bellagio’s Poker Room, the last few days, tenders the question, where is the WSOP actually being held? The big game hasn’t been up and running the last few nights, but all the players that make that room happen are in all of the events at the WSOP. Every other table in the room is running at max speed, with a list for each game that runs off the page.
Once again, I’ve fallen into the mode of signing the E/O-Play list the moment I hit the door. I was off on M&T, and back at the Time Clock on Wednesday night. Tonight is my last night for two months…the big LOA is going into effect. I will be back, over the weekend, with updates and posts but right now I’m off to fade the heat of Bellagio’s poker room, the noise and confusion of people milling everywhere, and seeing if I can beat the kids in $4-8H. BTW, one hand I played last night, the perfect hand that makes one want to play poker forever: I raised pre-flop with K-K. I got four callers; I was first in the action, UTG. The Flop brought K-K-9, two diamonds, one club. I checked, the 7s bet $4, the 8s raised to $8, the 10s and 1s folded. I called. The turn brought a small club, two possible straight draws now. I checked again, the 7s bet $8, the 8s raised to $16, I called, the 7s called. The river brought a blank. I bet $8, the 7s called, the 8s raised, I raised, the 7s folded (who knows what this woman had?), the 8s raised, I raised, and the 8s called. He flopped 9’s full of K’s.
Just one quick shot at the WSOP (before I hit the shower and head for the time clock) and their need for greed, the bottle on the left is 8 fl. oz and costs $4 a bottle, the one on the right is 16.9 fl. oz – much better tasting – and costs about 80c at the grocery store. There’s gold in the desert, you just have to know where to find it…
