Walmart Sucks and so does Camping World!

I have the grumble bug with Wal-Mart right now. You can buy anything in the store 24/7. But you can only return certain items when it’s convenient for them. I purchased a relatively expensive Sony digital video/still camera at 3 a.m. After a few days of trying it out, I really didn’t care for the digital stills and felt the video wasn’t as wonderful as it should be – although Jim and Wayne and Marie, you showed up pretty damn well with voice. I tried to return it at 1 AM on my way home from work. Continue reading Walmart Sucks and so does Camping World!

The Pan Game Plays Sam’s Town

The Pan Game Plays Sam’s Town, 5.15.2006

This is the first time that we’ve had an event on my side of town. The norm is that I pick up Marie, on my way to wherever we are going, and this time we decided she would pick me up. I had even toyed with walking since it’s just a skip from where I live. We arrived, found ‘call ahead’ parking, and headed into the room right at 6 PM. Of course we were the first ones there. Too Tired to Write!

The short version of what’s been going on. Early Monday AM found me hitching up and heading to Camping World so they could check the generator they installed in the coach. They moved two wires – they say it’s fixed now – it won’t blow the 20 amp breaker when both air conditioning units are running at the same time. This weekend will tell – I’m testing it. Then back to my RV space to level up, unhitch, and hook up…the temperatures were in the high 90’s and I was dead assed dragging when I finished my chores. Plus I didn’t sleep much the night before after leaving the Pan Game Group. Continue reading Too Tired to Write!

The Pan Game Plays Red Rock Station

My first thought for our ‘meet and beat each other at cards’ was The Mirage. Then it dawned on me that a big tournament is running at The Mirage and we’d never even find a space to put our name on the list, let alone play together in a poker game. I picked Red Rock Station. It’s the newest venture of the ‘Station Casinos’ in Vegas and it looks like a GIANT hit. It’s situated right at 215 and Charleston. Easy on and off for those that are traveling from around the Valley. I have no idea what/where the main entrance is, Marie and I entered from the East Parking Garage (not to worry, I didn’t park on any of the floors, just went straight to the top so I didn’t have to worry about height requirements). Perhaps we were at the main entrance, perhaps not, but this is the eye grabber when you enter from that section: Continue reading The Pan Game Plays Red Rock Station

Branded!

As of late I’ve hit the room and signed the E/O-Play List. We still are not allowed to play on the clock, yet all the other MGM/Mirage Property dealers are doing it. Why? The word: In order for us to play on the clock, our small signs, that adorn the walls of the room, state that we ‘do not’ hire props or shills. Those signs have to change to read that we do hire props. I find that to be totally amazing that after almost 16 years of being employed by The Mirage and parent corporations, we now have to state that we are props – but what the hell do I know? Apparently the other properties have already changed their signs…but Bellagio can’t seem to get there yet. So rather than sit ‘dead-spreads’ and put myself through ‘deal a game, take a break, sit a dead-spread’, I believe I am capable of winning when I play and I elect to ‘not’ clock in and join the battle on the green felt. Turn up the Heat!

There’s never a time or place that poker doesn’t have some form of steam or heat going on – whether it’s with a player, the action at the time, the table as a whole, or everything in general. Drifting through various games and limits while sitting in the dealer’s box, brings to light a whole new world of poker that the average person just never sees. Continue reading Turn up the Heat!
