An update on the NLH limits Bellagio is spreading. We now have a $5-10 Blind with a minimum of $400, maximum of $1,000 buy-in. Stop in and check it out. It was running when I hit the room on Monday night but not in my line up so I have no idea on how/what it’s playing out like. Of course it’s new to the room and a lot of people don’t know about it yet so time will tell. But we still have the $2-5 NLH with a min/max $200 buy-in, yet some of our dealers still have no clue as to what is going on with the limit on buy-ins; when a new face sat down in the $2-5 I was dealing, he brought $300 to the table. I told him the max was $200. Another player exclaimed, “I brought $500 when I sat down a few hours ago and the dealer never said anything!” Gee…why doesn’t that surprise me?
The room is in continual rock and roll, barely slowing down even late at night. January is always an extremely busy month for us, even with the opening of Caesar’s Poker Room…everyone has talked about it for over three years…it’s finally happened – we’re still busy as hell. Go figure!
Bellagio’s daily tournament is now a $1,000+ everyday. It was $500+ during the week and $1,000+ on Friday and Saturday. Not sure when it changed over as I sometimes don’t deal it for weeks at a time.
While I was pounding out some hands in a $4-8 H game, Tanya stopped in front of my table to say ‘hi’, stating that she’d been in town since last Thursday. She’s always a welcome sight and since I keep up with her blog, I knew she was somewhere in the nether regions of Vegas.
I hit Bobby’s Room but it was to deal a $25-50 NLH game on Table 10. This is probably one of the most bizarre big games I’ve ever dealt. They were so busy talking and watching something unfold on television that it was difficult to deal the game. There were seats open with lock up stickers in several of the seats. (Later, while dealing a $10-20 NLH game, the players in the $10-20 game said the game in Bobby’s Room was a private game. Umnnhhh! You figure it out.) Some thing happened later in this game that blew the whole thing apart. I wasn’t there at the time and don’t have any news on it but it went from being a great game to no game. The Big Game was running on Table 1 but it wasn’t in my line up.
The $10-20 NLH – these games either have a ton of action or are like watching paint dry. This one was a little rocker. One pot was over $13,000 and sent one player home. The winner threw me $1 with a big smile. I smiled back and thanked him. He then threw me $50. Yipppeee! I thanked him again. They were all good to me. Hell…poker’s been very good to me.
I have a date with Sand Woman Land so I leave with this beauty as my vision of a window in time – courtesy of Hubble.
