Bright lights, Big city

I’m in Vegas – tomorrow is the celebration of life of my friend Gordon Long.  Originally I was going to pick up the Rioteer from school today – and head for home.  Lunch with Marie and Carole last week found me exclaiming that I would have Riot with me and driving back and forth, especially after dark on Saturday…Marie gave me the open door treatment again.  I took it.

As momparentals go, the plan changed – I wasn’t picking Riot up after school and wouldn’t get him until Sunday but since he’s out of school for Xmas vacation, I will have him for the duration possibly.

Since the Riot plans changed, I decided there was no reason to change mine.  I got up early to head out of the big city of Pahrump by about 9:30 a.m.  Several things were on my list of ‘to-dos’ and I made Gary & Marie’s by around 12:30.  It’s been one of those l-o-o-o-o-o-n-g days that seem like the clock stands still while you spin out mile after mile on the treadmill and headway just ain’t.

I’ve had a computer glued to my face for hours now. Soon I will slip into one of my favorite places…sleep.

Tomorrow night I believe we will visit,  Aria but if you want to see some fantastic photos of the place, visit FlipChip’s excellente photo shoot…it’s incredible – his photos are incredible.

A teensy bit of poker in this blog.  I played the $1.10 7 card stud 8 game on PokerStars and snagged 2nd place – noted in this post –  a day or so later, I played the same tourney and took 1st place – the following night I played and bubbled the final table…zounds…what’s going on out there in the poker cosmos of Card Fairy land?  Fun anyway, no big bucks involved but every penny earned is right up there with crunchy p-nut butter.

On the poker note, we will be playing the PokerWorks Family tourney this Sunday – December 20th at 22:30ET, password ‘donkeys’ – tournament ID 222793458 – under the tourneys>private tab.  Be there kids!

Time to say get night.
