Everything’s running at full speed, I’m in reverse

Man, I can’t catch up!  I feel like I’m stranded on the dark side of Nowhere and the faster I try to run to daylight, the bigger Nowhere becomes. I had Riot out here for a few days.  What a hoot.  We took Scouty to the vet on Friday a.m.  She’d been digging at one ear.  The diagnosis was probably Foxtails.  Check out the dried out ones in the middle picture.

The Foxtails weren’t visible because she yelped when Dr. Suzanne put the scope in her ear.  She had to have a shot to relax her, then a shot to bring her out of it, and yes, 2 ugly little Foxtails were brought out on a gauze, they were about 1/2 inch long.  No damage to the ear drum, medication inserted in the ear to prevent infection…we got her home, she threw up…more than once.  Pretty much she did a lay-around-don’t-move kind of thing all day.  We left her alone.  This picture was the day before.

The truckers are home…possibly for around two months.  Sis is having surgery on her wrists – she needs to quit flipping people off when she’s driving down the road in the big truck – just kidding!  But in the meantime, they are laying in a deck on the back of their house and just set up an above-ground pool that the deck will half wrap.  Should be pretty cool when it’s done and I can’t tell you how glad I am to NOT be helping with that project.  They are out painting decking day and night, it’s hot out now, and have leveled, packed, graveled, poured concrete footings, etc.  All the quails and bunnies are wondering when the Pahrump high rise will open but it’s only a deck…a masterpiece…but still, a deck.

In the meantime, Riot got to take the inaugural swim.  I watched.  Mr. Airborne himself!

Last week it was 8 permanent crown day at the dentist.  What a be-yatch!  Getting the bite to fit the way it was supposed to, ugh!  Then a hard suck down (don’t be thinking trashy thoughts now) that had to be made for me to sleep with.  Tomorrow it’s back for the night time retainer that was built this last week for me by my dentist.  I guess it’s a ‘rest of my life’ type of thing.  Damn, my teeth sure look great though. So that’s how part of my day will go. Some of it will be spent driving, some trying to pick up a few things in Vegas (no, not the kind that do hard suck downs), and then heading out home – hopefully all in a 5-6 hour time span because the Scout is going to be home alone.

I still haven’t made it to the WSOP.  I don’t know what to even think about the whole thing.  I’m so busy I can’t get there, literally.  And how/where would I put my dog if I did go in?  It’s a 3 hour trip in and back, and I have work to do to boot. I don’t even know if I will make it this year but I hope I do, at least for one afternoon.

On Phil Ivey’s lawsuit and statement, I want to add that I think Phil is deserting ship.  I think he’s only interested in protecting himself. His slogan should be “Phil Ivey for Phil Ivey!”

On Full Tilt, I don’t know what to say.  I find it difficult to hear nothing from anyone in a position to have answers.  I had already thought about the players that haven’t been paid being angry at Full Tilt pros when they played events, so the altercation/argument that happened with James Bord confronting John Juanda didn’t surprise me at all. I’m surprise it hasn’t become common place.  A lot of people that have accounts are dying on the vine, their rent is due, they have bills to pay and families to feed.  Anger is a common emotion in times of stress and this is worse than stressful. I have a few pennies there and it won’t break me, but still…I’d like to have it.

On President Obama, COWARD!  Speak up and help the US poker players of America play safe, regulated poker!

And one edit – on Phil Hellmuth missing bracelet #12…sorry dude…I was rooting against you.  You just bring out the worst in people, they want to see you miss. You cry baby!

On life in general, you can’t save the world. I’m having a glass of wine!
