The ghost of blogs past

It’s so dark in here I can barely find my way along the dusty path.  It has been forever since I visited and penned.  I have very little poker news now, other than what I write about for PokerWorks.  I wish I did have news, like really great news about online poker racing back into being and Full Tilt and Absolute and UB paying all of their cash out requests, but I don’t.  Rather than dwell on all of that, let me just move on.

Tomorrow is an early a.m. drive into Vegas and some hours in the torture chamber dentist’s chair to finally have the finale done on correcting my bite, I’ll be sporting 6 temporary crowns on top molars when I walk out the door. It may sound odd but I’m looking forward to it.  I’ve been procrastinating due to funds – obviously – it costs three arms and two legs to have one crown done, let alone 6.  The good news is that my dentist is throwing one in for me so I only have to pay for five.  That’s huge.  Dr. Stephen Rose just in case you live in Las Vegas and want a great dentist.

The weather sux.  The wind has blown and blown some more…a few days ago the sky opened up and the Atlantic Ocean fell out of it, all within about a half hour.  The sun came out, the wind blew, the clouds rolled in, and the sky opened up again but this time it was only Lake Erie that fell out of it.  Crazy times.  I can’t complain too much about it since it’s calm compared to what’s going on in other parts of the USA.  The truck driving sis always has a report for me when she’s on the road and she says it’s horrible everywhere. And when the weather starts to turn here, it will go to convection oven in a heartbeat.

Scout and I are doing famously.  I have her licking her lips and staring at me – almost drooling on the floor – as I make her sit and wait a few before she’s allowed to go for a dog snack.  This is huge.  She’s a real food slut and used to jump up in and air almost knock me over when I first brought a treat out.  No, on the collar, Ken, not yet anyway…too much going on.

My neighbor down a place and across the road took her goat out for a walk yesterday and her little girl went along on her bike.  Scout and I were in the yard and I thought Scout was going to have a heart attack, she ran up and down the fence, growling and barking, snarling and spinning, and acting like a carnivore that spotted dinner. The goat didn’t jump or run, the woman leading the goat seemed exasperated that Scout was having a fit and then the other neighbors dogs went ballistico too…but they always do.  He has four.  If they see Scout and I in the yard the go into barking insanity and they live across the street and down one place from us in the opposite direction of the goat walker.

No yelling or commanding was stopping Scouty.  She was raging and running.  I finally picked up one of the green tennis balls that she’ll fetch in a heartbeat and was going to peg it at her to get her attention.  She saw me and the ball and stopped racing and ran over.  LMAO.  I grabbed her collar and in the house we went.  Talk about a light switch!

My youngest granddaughter turns 3 tomorrow.  Damn!  I need to get back to Springfield for a visit and some Rain hugs!

Riot was out with Dad and Courtney yesterday.  They got here late but still had time to ride dirt bikes for a few hours before the sun went down.  And Riot and I managed a few team games on the Wii before they had to leave for the night.  That’s the only drawback to living out here, it’s such a long stint into town to spend a few hours with family or visit with friends.  *Sigh*

Time for zzzzzz land so I can make that dental appointment tomorrow.
