Spike is back!

I minced around cutting my hair in the post before last – it wasn’t something that just hit my thoughts, it’s been ongoing for quite some time.  Long hair is beautiful (obviously when it’s healthy and mine was) and always in the way if you wear it down or you have to continually tie it up, pull it up, or wear it as I did the last 3 to 4 years which was pulled up in a knot on top of my head with a bandanna – to keep the short hair that is always growing in – off of my nose and out of my eyes.  I seldom ever wore it down over the last few years – it almost gave me a headache with it flying around the sides of my face and blocking my vision.

So off and on in the last year I’ve twitched with the thought of just cutting it off – might I add that it also takes hours to dry when it’s long since I don’t use a hair dryer – and finally the decision was made.  I pulled it back and braided it and left it for another 3 to 4 hours as I knew I was going to go in and cut it off but figured to wait myself out for a bit and see if any sign of remorse hit me before I actually did it.

NOPE!

It took me a short time to cut it off but about an hour longer of shaping and cutting with a pair of scissors until I halfway got the desired look.  The following day was a bit more trimming up.  Then on the following day I bought a pair of clippers – haven’t used them yet but they will help the next time I decide to cut along my neckline, etc.

Measuring in at around 15 inches long in a braid, obviously longer straight, it is going to Locks of Love later today.

Scout, my new dog, will be here Saturday I believe.  Her current owner is bringing her to me from CA, can’t beat a deal like that!  I had planned to meet her in Vegas – she was born and raised in Vegas (not the dog silly) – and figures to come in the back way from CA to Pahrump which is shorter than if she drives into Vegas. Works for me.  I have everything I need – I think – for the comfort of acclimating Scout to her new home and me.  I’m still working on setting up a dishpan or something on the back deck that I can rinse her feet off in when we’ve been out on mud days around the property.  Of course I need to haul wheelbarrow loads of gravel for a path from the front drive around to the side of the house and deck and build a walking path for me and her.  Ouch!  My granny body is crying just thinking about it.

I played off my 2nd Sunday Million Ticket at PokerStars yesterday.  Damn!  I almost unregistered an hour before because I was tired and a bit out of sorts but like a dumb butt, I didn’t, I played.  Or rather watched 6-5, 6-2, 6-4 materialize in my hand repeatedly.  I picked up Aces once and got no action.  I raised once with A-Q and the blind called me with two Aces K-10 off suit.  Of course he caught a 10 and won the pot.  But he’s supposed to, K-10 is THE poker hand.

I really was never involved in many pots at all.  One I did the major suck-out on a guy that had been raising repeatedly when I had K-6 Hearts in the BB and he raised my blind for the 90th time.  I called.  The flop was K-little.  I bet, he raised me all-in, I called.  He had K-J Clubs.  Yikes!  I caught 6-6 for a full and folded for the next hour again.  I finally went busto on A-Q off  – one off the button when I ran into 10-10 in the BB.  Kee-Rist!   Poker can be so frustrating at times.  First place in the Sunday Million is a ginormous amount of money and would definitely ease a lot of things that wrinkle my brain every month.  I’ll have to FPP in through a satellite I guess.

The wind has been a horacious animal that refuses to stop.  Damn good thing I’m in a house now instead of the RV or I would’ve hitched up and moved on by now.  In the house I know it’s blowing but at least I’m not rocking and swaying to its tune.  I wish, wish, wish that someone would roll in and buy my RV too.  I’d love to lose that part of my financial portfolio.

I was going to meet The G for lunch in Vegas today but he’s not feeling well – I’m very sorry to hear he’s not well because I do get the biggest kick out of him.  So here’s hoping we do have time to meet up before he leaves again.
