The end of PokerStars WBCOOP

The main event found me at the table with Dramaturg, the player that ended up winning the Leaderboard Contest but not the championship event.  I managed to give him a good start on the whole thing.  The first hour or so of the tournament I picked up chips, only to give away a huge amount of them when I picked up 10-10 and he called my raise with Ace and – I think it was an 8 but not sure now of spades.  He had fritzed back and forth with some offbeat hands and for some reason I went into brain lock and just couldn’t give him an Ace…dipshit…MOI!

Then he called my raises no matter what, I folded out of some after the flop and finally went all-in in desperation with 8-8 which he insta-called my raise with k-q off.  He caught a queen on the turn and I was out.  I admit to cursing.  The funniest part of  this table was about an hour into play, Glenda landed at the same table.  In all of the tournaments we have played together, there have been possibly 3 times that we were at the same table.  The other two times were when we were in small field tourneys like 7 card stud 8 or razz.  Knowing her style of play got me off of 10s earlier in the game.  She was UTG and raised it.  I knew she wasn’t in there on a lark or whisper of hope so I folded.  We chatted on IM as we played and after I folded – she got no callers – she pinged that she had Jacks.  We never tell each other what we have during a hand unless we are on separate tables, then we root for each other.  In the same game, WE ARE TRYING TO BEAT EVERYONE, that includes each other.  I busted about 3 or 4 off of the bubble for the $11 ticket – that was at 250 players.

I am happy with my results for the PokerStars WBCOOP series this year.  I’ve picked up a new mindset on playing poker and have become more devoted to actually playing in the last few months.  A huge amount of that mindset I have to give credit to my son Dan for.  I have a very difficult time wading through strategy books and fading the time to sit and play because I’m just too damned busy.  But I’m really enjoying poker right now and I’m reserving a space for it in my eternal time frame so I feel it’s working out well.  I’m also happy I have the tickets to the SCOOP tournaments and the Sunday Millions.  If I bomb, I bomb, if I don’t run into any glitches or bad play on my part and a helluva lot of luck comes my way, I could end up in the big bucks.  That would really be fun.

Now it’s time to do other things with my day.  Laters.
