Poker with Passion

I thought that would get your attention.  I haven’t even been playing poker, either it’s a time thing or a “don’t feel like it” type of thing.  Hence this little kid could never do it for a living, it’s got to be fun or I have to be on a vendetta with the Card Fairy to prove I can win for me to be playing a lot.  The PokerWorks Family HORSE tourney will kick off this Sunday at Full Tilt Poker, same particulars as last time but a post will announce the whole thing in the next day or so.

So…no poker…where have I been?  To the moon and back baby.  Someday I may pen it, then again someday I may not but it’s been a real bumpy ride.  On the upside of things I’m on a new BP medication.  Doncha love it?  I used to drip sarcastic thoughts when I dealt poker in my early Mirage days to fat dead asses in the $30-60 7 Card Stud Games as they discussed the different BP medications and doses they each took daily.  My thought was, “Get up off your ass and on your feet and quit loading that mouth with a steam shovel of buffet goodies every night.”

Well here I am.  Right at the table with the BP medications, doing test runs on different ones, and really glad I got off of the last one I was on.  But I do get off my ass and on my feet, and I don’t load at the buffet table, and I don’t do a lot of things that could create the problem but I still have the problem.  It sucks.  Hereditary is the most common answer I receive when I query.  But all of that aside, the new BP  med has dropped it like a lead balloon.  I’m much happier now although I’m dealing with that weird feeling and light headedness that hits when you start new.  I think I’m gonna live a little longer now.

I still can’t stop mulling the fragmented shards of idiocy wrapped around Sen. Jon Kyl being allowed to hold up the whole US with his childish crap issues with online gaming by refusing to confirm six treasury nominees and the UIGEA will go into effect. How does a person in office justify their wants over the entire nation they are there to serve? That question isn’t designed to imply the entire nation wants poker. We need to be protected from online poker, obviously, since we are adults and can’t protect ourselves, but who will protect us from people like Kyl?

I got a new toy today (yes-s-s-s-s Baby, I like those kind of toys too but this isn’t one of them).  I used to own one of these, then sold it when I cleaned out the old digs to move from a 1600 sq. foot house into a 5th wheel with 3 slides.  A trikke.  I picked the T78 Deluxe and it has air tires, my old one had polyurethane tires.  I hope not to take a spill on this one (yuppers, I did on the old one, it hurts like hell to take a fall), but if the wind isn’t ripping the pavement off the streets in the a.m., as soon as I have the tires aired to the required pressure, I’ll be taking it out for my first test drive.  The whole cambering system and feel of it appears to be a lot more flexible and quicker than my old one.  *Makes not to self to BE CAREFUL*  At least there are no hills around my section of dirt out here in the desert – on pavement anyway – so I won’t worry about losing it doing a downhill.

The Rioteer hasn’t been out to see me in two weeks now.  I’m hoping for a visit from him this weekend but he informed me on the phone today that he didn’t want to come and see me, he wanted to go stay with his dad.  Damn…who will help me beat the next level of Super Mario and take down Bowser so we can win the castle?  He also lost his second tooth today just before we got on the phone.  There were no tears or feelings of loss and tragedy it seemed, nothing spectacular since he made it through the emotional crush of losing the first one.

I also got the cover for the Silver Steed today, which means I have to wash the Steed, ugh!  I hate those projects.  This cover just kept rolling out…forever…after I got it out of the box.  How the hell do they put all of that into the box?  It wasn’t compressed, just tucked and rolled.  Maybe they created the box around it?  After seeing the length and size of the cover (and it’s still not been completely unfolded or laid out) I’m wondering what/where I will put it in when I take it off for trips to town and Vegas.  Silly me not to think of that in advance. We have a great storage shed on the property which will work fine but the covers needs to be bagged, this should be one helluva chore, putting it on and taking it off.  I need the exercise.

Check back – if I survive the trikke ride tomorrow, I’ll be posting soon.
