Life is such a great teacher

the only way to know how you scored is to be able to face yourself every day.  Think about it!  Is it a game where other people grade you?  No, it’s an experimental experience to see if you like you when it’s all said and done and the lights go out at night.  OK, enough mind melt for now…

Will she ever get the skirting project finished?  Will the frigging wind ever ease up????  That’s the real question.  Once the wind takes a break for a day, I’m on it.  I went to Home Depot today with my little list of sizes of wood I needed cut.  I couldn’t cut a straight line if my life was on the line.  I’ve tried mitre boxes, skill saws, wood saws, using a drawn line, and the whole ball of wax – of course if I had a radial arm saw I could make that nice, straight cut…but I don’t. So Jose cut the wood for me, taking his time to make sure he got what I wanted and he even went back and found straighter pieces for me.  Sweet heart!  I almost asked him for a date…WOOT!  And he didn’t charge me for the additional cuts that Home Depot has a big sign posted saying they charge.

Next stop, wood screws, and both sis and I have electric drills, and yes, I can drill a straight line.  So what the hell is the wood for?  The skirting project.  I need to build a semi-box thingy to put under my stairs to attach the skirting to.  I think I can, and do it well, so all I have to do is tip it and pull it out each year.

Aside from that little project, I still have two digs to finish.  They are major…maybe not if you’re a backhoe.

On poker news, Glenda and I played again last night.  My air internet bit the dust and I ended up going for the ATT air card rather than run over to sis’s house and reboot the router.  I missed a few hands but none of my hands were good anyway so I can’t imagine that Aces or Kings slipped by me while I was in ‘sit out.’  I’d like to say I played exceptionally well, but I really never got involved due to the 6 high-offsuit cards I kept getting.  When I busted out of two tourneys, one for $1.10 and the other for $2.20, I knew I lost $3.30 for the day.  I didn’t enjoy playing in either of them…my fault I’m sure.  Glenda placed in the $ again in…second night in a row.  WOOT!

I may try again tonight.  Yes, I love poker.

The life part?  I’m always looking for a lesson, I just pray they aren’t painful…you hear me Life?
