Bunnies in the wind

…I wish they were bunnies in the wind, blowing off to parts unknown.  I got a comment from TenMile on yesterday’s post (actually more than one, he was in rare comment form for the day), about the frigging rabbits, ways to help keep them from eating everything green, thank you kindly Sir.

Wish I was a rabbit/meat hunter, I’d have enough in the freezer for the next few years.  I’ve been to a variety of sites on the internet searching for cures.  A fence is, of course, the best option.  One forum that I laughed my ass over was where a guy said to take 5 tomatoes, cut them into quarters, put sugar all over them and set them out about 25 yards from your plants.  The rabbits love the tomatoes and as they arrive, shoot the hell out of the rabbits.  And if the shooting bothered your neighbors, do it at night, the neighbors might wonder what was going on but they wouldn’t come out to check.  That solution doesn’t fit me but don’t think I didn’t find the whole picture to be extremely funny.  Yah, I’m sick!

There were a lot of other suggestions, like hot pepper spray on the leaves, blood meal around the roots, and a product that has fox urine in it – that cost a lot of money BTW because it must be really hard to get that fox to piss in the bottle.  I searched up the link sent by Tenmile in an email and there are more interesting solutions in it.  I may try a few since they beat the hell out of the idea with the tomatoes.

I believe tomorrow I will head to Vegas in the afternoon.  Apparently momparental of Riot’s home is in the hospital.  Dadparental has Riot for the night and will take him to school tomorrow and pick him up – school is a helluva long ways from dadparental’s place.  I think to spend the night at the old digs, take Riot to school on Friday (he only goes 3 hours being a K-G age), pick him up from school and head out to “P” for the weekend.  Ah-h-h-h-h life always has a curve ball don’t it?

The wind still controls my part of the universe.  I accomplished nothing outdoors today other than watering all the plants – and it was a struggle.  I’m missing my early a.m. walks with Amy – the grannie body needs the exercise to make the mind calm – but it’s just too damned windy to even consider a stroll.

No poker yesterday or today.  No withdrawal either because I’ve been too damned busy with work.  Sleep is on my mind right now.
