WSOP and the size of a buy-in?

“Beginning this year, all ten $10,000+ buy-in tournaments are designated as official world championships” the news released this year by the WSOP.

I’m holding onto my sides as I die laughing over this.  Yeah, yeah, yeah, it’s my sick sense of humor.  How’s yours?  If you CANNOT fade the expense of a $10,000 buy-in tournament and you make it into a $1,500 via satellite or direct buy-in – and win it – what kind of champion are you?  Usually in events with a smaller buy-in you fade another 30K or so in players to get to first place than you would in the $10K buy-in…so you’re just a luck monster that donked out on everyone else if you win it?

But if you satellite or direct buy-in to a $10K+ tournament buy-in and you win one of those…well How-Dee-Do Lucy…you are an official WORLD CHAMPION?

Kiss my grits, Buckwheat!

Let me get in one last sicko sense of humor thought.  If you are staked by someone into the $10K event and win it, are you an official WORLD CHAMPION HORSE?

The pecking order of poker.  “I play in Bobby’s Room!” *waits for applause and groveling from listeners*

Dealer:  Linda is sitting out.

Linda:  I can’t fade the buy-in.
