Paul Emile Bacat – LeFlorentin

All of the info about these cards can be found here:

And the images are all of the face cards and Aces, the jokers, the door card, and other important info about the deck, no explanation needed for the most part, so kick back, stare at this incredibly beautiful deck of cards, and enjoy.

Beginning with the suits:

The Spades –

From left to right – 1) the back of the deck (I also have another deck that has a red backed design and I believe this is a French version). 2) The ‘door’ card. 3) The female joker. 4) The male joker.

I believe it is important to point out that this deck of cards depicts an era, one that was of revolution and enlightenment, and there is a message in each face card. Most of the public, upon seeing this deck, exclaims, “Dirty cards!” Implying that it’s all about sex and breasts and lusts. I believe it depicts lust quite well, but all of this lust is not of sexual appetite.

You, as the reader/viewer, are entitled to your own vision and explanations. For PaulEmile Becat to draw these cards, from the writings of a monk that had seen the artbefore it was destroyed by the monks, is an amazing feat and concept…especially since I believe Becat was depicting an era in time, capturing it on a playing card. All I can is “WOW!!!”

I haven’t made it to Vegas yet. I think I will make it over the week after T-Day.

I will try to make it to the Bellagio when I am in town.

  3. Hello,
I’ve got a strang question perhaps… The florentin cards are very, very beautiful!!! But I can’t afford to buy the real ones. For me a replica is also ok.
Can anybody tell me where I can find them or has someone for me perfect scans (high resolution) of all the cards so I can make them myself?? I would really love to enjoy these cards myself…

    greetings
