I lost a day. That’s not unusual because too many times I fail to remember what day of the month it is. The downside was that it was my younger brother Kenny’s birthday. I called him as I made the drive into work, just to wish him health and many happy days – only to find out that today was the 5th and his birthday was yesterday. Pshaw! He was happy I called and didn’t care about it being one day late. We jawed about life in general and my new life changes coming up. I can always go park on his land when I’m mobile, as long as I can crank up the Internet, I can hang out with him until it gets c-c-c-old. Cold is my stipulation, not his. He even has a blade to slap on his truck so he can plow out the road when it snows…that will open up the escape hatch to the county road. I could never spend my winters like that, or my birthdays for that matter. That kid’s got heart. Continue reading Thursday, January 5, 2006

Little Miss Chatter Box is drinking Baileys on ice. Drinking always leads to some kind of ramble. There’s no rhyme or reason to it…just a ramble. Some people have to explain everything. I have to explain nothing. People either accept me for my straightforward, live the moment, sarcastic sense of humor, or they walk away with their nose bent. I never ‘put on the dog’ or pretend to be something I’m not, I won’t even back peddle if it will improve my position in life, I just go with the flow and when I can’t stand the flow, I swim against the current to find another shore that makes me feel that I am living my life as I wish to live it. An update on the NLH limits Bellagio is spreading. We now have a $5-10 Blind with a minimum of $400, maximum of $1,000 buy-in. Stop in and check it out. It was running when I hit the room on Monday night but not in my line up so I have no idea on how/what it’s playing out like. Of course it’s new to the room and a lot of people don’t know about it yet so time will tell. But we still have the $2-5 NLH with a min/max $200 buy-in, yet some of our dealers still have no clue as to what is going on with the limit on buy-ins; when a new face sat down in the $2-5 I was dealing, he brought $300 to the table. I told him the max was $200. Another player exclaimed, “I brought $500 when I sat down a few hours ago and the dealer never said anything!” Gee…why doesn’t that surprise me? Holy Schmolie! I just typed ‘2006’ – that means my brain has officially registered the fact that another year has passed. What my brain is having a hard time digesting is the fact that the weather is just as ugly right now as it was when 2005 blew off into the past. It’s windy, spitting something between rain and sleet, and C-C-C-O-L-D outside. And I have to go to work tonight. Damn! I want to stay tucked away from the rest of the world – mainly the weather – and not move for a few days. Continue reading January 2, 2006
